Midwest Psychiatry Group

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I meet with my psychiatrist?

At this time, we are  accepting telemedicine patients via a secure HIPAA-compliant platform along with in-person sessions on a case-by-case basis in Michigan.

When is your clinic open?

We have flexible appointment hours 7 days per week 8AM-8PM. Typically, we can schedule an appointment within 1-2 days of your inquiry.

Do you prescribe control medications?

Given the flux of changes with telemedicine rules and regulations, we are not prescribing any control medications currently. This includes all stimulants and benzodiazepines. We are happy to treat all presenting issues with non-controls.

Do you accept insurance?

Midwest Psychiatry Group does NOT accept any insurance. We have a private pay model. If you have out-of-network mental health benefits, we will be happy to assist you by supplying bills, diagnosis, and other information that is requested by your carrier for reimbursement. Many insurance plans reimburse a significant portion of out-of-network charges, sometimes up to 60-80%. Please contact your insurance carrier to inquire about your specific plan.

What can I expect during my first appointment?

We are interested in getting to know each patient individually so that we can understand their concerns and how these problems are currently affecting their lives. Once this process is accomplished, we will design a treatment plan and engage in addressing the problem.

How long is an appointment?

The length of appointment is highly variable. Intake appointment will be an extensive psychiatric evaluation. Follow-up appointments will be medication management, therapy, or both. Appointment duration will depend on the patient’s presenting issues and severity.

What happens at complimentary consultation?

Midwest Psychiatry Group will gather information via questionnaires and provide consent forms to facilitate initial appointment. While we are experienced in a number of treatments, we will need to determine if we are the right fit for your needs.

What age of patients do you see?

Our adult psychiatrist will see patients over the age of 18. Our child psychiatrist will see children, adolescents, and adults
